Angels & Giving
The Angels
FoIM formed a CHOIR OF ANGELS which enabled members of the public to become Archangels, Angels, Cherubims, Seraphims. Some remembered loved ones for a donation of only £10, others named their grandchildren and we have started a new theme around remembering a beloved pet. The response was immediate and the Campaign raised over £7,000. Donors were acknowledged on a panel within the Exhibition and in the FoIM Newsletter. Lead donors were FoIM, The Lord Belstead Charitable Trust, Ipswich Fine Art and Decorative Society. Our Media Partner was The East Anglian Daily Times. Currently the Angels fund stands at over £20,000.
2020 - The FoIM decided the Angels scheme should continue, and new donors were called Acquisition Angels. Donors can give for special projects such as a particular acquisition, or for conservation of a particular item like the Jan Porcellis rare masterpiece in the summer of 2022 and the gentleman's silk coat both shown and admired in past exhibitions.
2023 - The Re-Glazing Angels project launched. Many of the paintings in our permanent collection urgently need reglazing. Some works are almost impossible to enjoy as reflections seriously impair the view. More importantly, UV light harms the artworks whereas modern, non-reflective glass stops UV damage and helps to conserve the paintings for future generations to enjoy. Acquisition Angels
Gabriel - £350
Individual, Corporate or Family sponsors. You will receive recognition in our newsletters. New Gabriels receive a years free membership of the FoIM.
Raphael - £250
Individual, Corporate or Family sponsors. You will receive recognition in our newsletters. New Raphaels receive a years free membership of the FoIM.
Archangels - £150
Individual, Corporate or Family sponsors. You will receive recognition in our newsletters. New Archangels receive a years free membership of the FoIM.
Angels - £50
You will receive recognition in newsletters. New Angels receive a years free membership of the FoIM.
Seraphim - £25
You will receive recognition in newsletters.
Cherubim - £15
Young people are our audience of the future so why not consider donating in the names of your children or grandchildren? Their names will be listed in the newsletter.
Memorial - £10
In memory of a loved one. Their name will be listed in the newsletter.
Pet Angels – Give what you can
Many of us have had pets who mean a great deal – canine companions or feline friends perhaps – and this is a great opportunity to remember them. Rather than us setting a figure, please give what you feel is appropriate. All donations, however great or small, make a difference. Their names will be listed in the newsletter.
How to become an Acquisition Angel
There are several ways to become an Acquisition Angel:

Total Giving - Donate instantly, and securely through Total Giving. Leave a message to say which category you are giving in and how you would like to be mentioned.
Pay by BACS transfer or send us a cheque. Please contact us for details - select Angels & Giving from the drop down menu.
Please note - if you are using Total Giving to donate to our Re-Glazing Appeal, please click the Total Giving box below and answer Yes to ‘Donate to a specific Campaign or Appeal’, then click the down arrow to select ‘Angels Re-Glazing Appeal’. Selecting Yes to ‘Add a Message’ will allow you to let us know which painting you wish to support.

Legacy - Leaving a legacy to your local Museums would ensure their work can continue for future generations. The Friends of the Ipswich Museums is a registered charity and if you would like to investigate leaving us a Legacy, please contact us for further details.
