Heritage Open Weekend 2024

7 & 8 September 2024

We had visitors from Nigeria, Ipswich USA and Australia among the 600 people who visited the Mansion over the Heritage Open Days weekend during our special Tudor themed event. We were graced with the presence of Good Queen Bess herself, who was accompanied by her personal jester, (aka Robert).  Mr. Withypoll, (aka James,) hosted the monarch during her visit with the help of Master Ken and the Ladies Erica, Clare and Sue.  Mistress Makepeace, the Cook, (aka Gillian) knowing her place, was in the kitchen telling visitors what sort of food would be eaten at a Tudor meal – which it seems was just about anything, including badger!
